One such project covered the assessment and targeting of geographic areas according to environmental and social factors. Many criteria were defined to identify potential utility installations across the United Kingdom. These diverse data sources were collected and analysed using a range of GIS functions including proximity analysis, buffering, and boundary modification.

Another project dealt with the automated production of a boundary set to cover Western Europe, including the UK, to facilitate a powerful spatial search application. The final outcome was a complete set of over one million contiguous polygons covering the target countries constructed to the highest levels of data accuracy and structure.

A contract to produce a new Postcode geography with Ordnance Survey involved the development of unit Postcode boundaries from Address-Point™ locations to create the most accurate representation of UK Postcode geography available. The most ambitious Postcode boundary development undertaken has now resulted in the availability of a new standard of Unit Postcode geography.
